Abstract：An important problem in module theory is to describe the structure of the lattice of fully invariant sub- modules of a module. This problem has been solved for several classes of modules, for example torsion abelian groups, but little is known in general. In particular, it is a problem of current interest in the theory of torsion--free abelian groups.
In this talk I describe a general method for constructing   fully invariant submodules of a module and describe several classes of  torsion--free abelian groups for which the method determines the lattice of all fully invariant subgroups.
