Abstract: Solenoids are introduced in topology in
1920's by Vietoris
and in dynamics 1n 1960 by Smale. We will report
recent reactions
between topology and dynamics around solenoids.

Abstract: This is an introduction to the colored Jones
polynomial via
the Kauffman bracket. The Kauffman bracket offers a
strikingly simple
approach to the Jones polynomial. We will see that, in
fact, the
Kauffman bracket can be used to obtain more knot
invariants than just the Jones
polynomial.
