Abstract: We present a generalization of the Lichnerowicz vanishing theorem on spin manifolds to the case of foliations. As a consequence, there is no foliation of positive leafwise scalar curvature on any torus. The later generalize the famous result of Schoen-Yau and Gromov-Lawson on the non-existence of positive scalar curvature metrics on any torus to the case of foliations.

Abstract: I will discuss a number of new vanishing theorems for sheaves of logarithmic differential forms on compact Kahler manifolds with simple normal crossing divisors, which generalize several classical vanishing theorems.
