Abstract：Holomorphic torsion is the complex analog of the Ray-Singer analytic torsion introduced as an analytic counterpart of the Reidemeister torsion, the first topological invariant which is not a homotopy invariant. The holomorphic torsion has found many applications, such as in Arithmetic Riemann-Roch and mirror symmetry. In this talk we will focus on its connection with modular forms, including our recent work with Yoshikawa related the holomorphic torsions of the log-Enriques surfaces and Borcherds modular forms.
