Title: Non-crossing partitions and representations of hereditary algebras

Abstract: Non-crossing partitions arise naturally in algebraic combinatorics from the study of Coxeter groups. It turns out that there is a close link to the representation theory of hereditary algebras via exceptional objects and exceptional sequences. In my talk I will explain this connection. This involves an axiomatic treatment of Grothendieck groups.
