Abstract: 
In this talk I shall discuss a new  phenomenon--rogue wave. More specifically,
it is one kind of localized nonlinear wave of partial differetial equations. 
This extrem wave events happen in the oecan very often. Now there are several
phyical experiments to observe it in optical fiber and water tank.  This natural phenomenon can  be modelled by
one kind localized rational solution of nonlinear PDEs. These results develop a new research direction in mathematcs
and physics: localizaton of the nonlinear waves. We shall discuss some new patterns  and generating mechanism of
the rogue wave.
