Title:    Energy Conservation and Onsager's Conjecture

          for the Euler Equations

Abstract:
          Onsager conjectured that weak solutions of the Euler equations for 3 D incompressible fluids conserve energy only if they have a certain minimal smoothness.  As a consequence, in 3 D turbulent flows, energy dissipation might exist even in the limit of vanishing viscosity.
        We discuss some recent results where we prove that energy is conserved in a Besov space with regularity "almost" that conjectured by Onsager.
