Title: Introduction to vertex operator algebras and their modules

 

Abstract: In the first lecture we will give the definitions of a vertex

operator algebra and a module and then discuss the equivalence of several

common definitions. In the second lecture, we will give a general

construction of vertex operator algebras and modules and then we apply

the construction to construct examples of vertex operator algebras from

affine Lie algebras and the Virasoro Lie algebras. In the third lecture,

we will discuss quantum vertex operator algebras and general constructions.
