Control problems for systems of conservation laws

ABSTRACT:

The talk will review recent work on controllability of scalar and systems of conservation laws in one space dimension, by means of boundary or distributed controls. In particular, we shall discuss the finite-time exact controllability, and the asymptotic stabilization to a constant state. Given an integral performance criterion, necessary conditions for the optimality of a control function will also be derived.
