《亚洲数学杂志》创刊于1997年，每年出版四期，由美国国际出版集团出版。两位主编，一位是国际著名数学家、菲尔兹奖得主、哈佛大学讲座教授丘成桐；另一位是著名应用数学家，香港中文大学教授陈汉夫。编委会成员由29位在国际上享有崇高名望的数学家组成，其中包括下列世界著名数学家：菲尔兹奖得主、哈佛大学讲座教授丘成桐，菲尔兹奖得主Vladimir Voevodsky，沃尔夫奖得主Saharon Shelah，英国皇家学会会员英国、剑桥大学讲座教授John Coates（费马大定理证明人Wiles的导师），英国皇家学会会员、美国斯坦福大学讲座教授Leon Simon，美国科学院院士、纽约大学讲座教授Srinivasa Varadhan，中国科学院院士、复旦大学数学学院院长洪家兴，香港科技大学理学院院长郑绍远，UCLA理学院院长陈繁昌，台湾中研院院士林长寿，台湾中研院院士姚鸿泽等。大多数编委曾在国际数学家大会上作过大会报告或邀请报告。这样的编委阵容可以说不逊色于世界上任何一个顶尖的数学期刊。

 

Enrico Bombieri，Jean-Pierre Serre，Friedrich Hirzebruch，L. Nirenberg，N. J. Hitchin R. Bott， V. Guillemin， Jacques Tits， Fedor Bogomolov，Lars Hormander，S. K. Donaldson，Edward Witten，Sergei Gelfand，Richard Hamilton，Richard Taylor，George Lusztig，Y. I. Manin，S. Novikov，Daniel W. Stroock，C. H. Taubes，Benedict H. Gross，Horng-Tzer Yau等一大批国际著名数学家先后向《亚洲数学杂志》投稿，其中包括8位菲尔兹奖得主。1997年，丘成桐与刘克峰、连文豪解决了世界著名的镜猜想这一超弦理论中的百年难题，他们的著名论文也刊登在《亚洲数学杂志》上。2006年6月1日出版的《亚洲数学杂志》上刊登了曹怀东与朱熹平的论文“庞加莱猜想暨几何化猜想的完全证明：汉密尔顿-佩雷尔曼理论的应用”，由于这一期的《亚洲数学杂志》是纪念陈省身先生的专刊，因此具有特殊的意义。
